						F&M Auto,
maker of the unusual retro-look Antas V8, has unveiled
plans for a new V12-engined sportscar which will present
a thoroughly modern appearance. Dubbed the Vulca V12, it
is named after a historic Etruscan artist who wrought a
statue of Jupiter which was displayed in the famous
Temple of Jupiter Optimus Maximus in Ancient Rome, and
this new 2+2 sportscar will be the first car to be
entirely designed and realised in house by the atelier.

						Lugano-based
F&M (Faralli & Mazzanti) Auto had a long and successful
history as a vehicle restorer before it unveiled its
first own creation, the Antas V8, almost exactly two
years ago. A hand crafted taught aluminium body
stretched over a tubular framed chassis it sought to
recreate the spirit and the magic of the famous Italian
'grand tourer' cars of the 1960s. With its distinctive
flourishes including the split screens, it was powered
by a Maserati V8 engine tuned up to 310 bhp.

						Now F&M Auto
has taken another step forward to create a much more
sinuous and modern look which aims to combine elegance
with aggression, for its brand new project, as well
installing a much bigger and more powerful engine. The
eye-catching styling reveals a muscular design with a
large gaping front grille, four oval headlights and a
similar styled four rear lamps. Details, such as the
polished aluminium petrol filler cap, are reminiscent of
						the Antas V8.

						Little
detail is available yet although F&M Auto has shown off
a series of project sketches, but it will adhere to the
atelier's tradition of building bodywork handcrafted
from aluminium, ensuring light weight to match the
powerful engine. It will be 4381 mm long, 2000 mm wide
and 1350 mm high with a wheelbase of 2781 mm. Standard
front spoked alloy wheels and tyres will be
						255/40/ZR 19, with

						245/35/ZR 20 or 255/30/ZR 21 being
						optional, while at the rear

						285/35/ZR 19
						will be
						standard, with

						275/30/ZR 20 or 295/25/ZR 21 optional.

						The Vulca V12's engine
will be available in three different specifications: A
6.0-litre unit with 445 bhp and 600 Nm of torque will be
standard, while two further more powerful options will
be 7.1-litre (520 bhp, 730 Nm) unit or a highest
						specification 7.5-litre (600 bhp, 800 Nm).

						The standard
6.0-litre model will be priced at 280,000 euros, while
the 7.1-litre option is 320,000 euros and the 7.5-litre
tops the price list at 340,000 euros. Guaranteeing
complete exclusivity F&M Auto plan to build just 10
individually numbered cars. The Vulca V12 is likely to
be unveiled at Top Marques Monaco (24-27 April) two
years after the Antas V8 was presented at the event.
