it exhibited a range of vehicles representing the most
modern technologies in the sector of military vehicles.
First was the Light Multi Role Vehicle (LMV), which was
present in specific versions. Next to this there was a
Light Utility Vehicle (LUV) that is based on the Iveco
Massif, the new light vehicle made in the tradition of
the legendary Fiat Campagnola, plus a Trakker 8x8 with
armoured cab and an Astra 6x6.
Iveco LMV
The by now famous LMV (Light Multi Role Vehicle) already
active with many armed forces in both peace keeping and
tactical roles. LMV boasts excellent crew protection
with outstanding stealth and versatility in operating
roles including command reconnaissance, light weapon
platform, ambulance, logistics transport and artillery
tractor. LMV uses the FPT 3.0 litre 16valve four
cylinder engine rated at 140 kW coupled to a 6 speed
fully automatic hydrodynamic transmission with a two
speed transfer box. The excellent performance of LMV is
further enhanced by the on-board central tyre inflation
system (CTIS) allowing tyre pressures to be adjusted
according to the terrain conditions and the very low
un-sprung mass due to the in-board disc braking system.
LMV was present in two important modes; as an ambulance
and with AMAPTM-ADS. This Active Defence System,
developed by IBD, provides 360° azimuthal protection
against a range of threats using on-board
countermeasures.
Iveco LUV
The Light Utility Vehicle based on the Iveco Massif is
designed to meet the demanding military requirements for
a wide variety of roles including command
reconnaissance, light weapon platform, ambulance,
logistics transport and artillery tractor. LUV uses the
FPT (Fiat Powertrain Technologies) 3.0 litre 16valve
four cylinder Diesel engine at power ratings of 107 kW
or 130 kW, the ZF 6S400 overdrive transmission coupled
to the 2 speed transfer box. Either rear wheel drive or
all wheel drive is selectable to suit all types of
terrain.
Iveco Trakker TEP 8x8
This armoured cab 8x8 vehicle presents the absolute
capability to transport, load and unload TEP units in
every action theatre. The cab is protected against
ballistic and mina assault to STANAG 4569 and the
vehicle boasts permanent 8 wheel drive with Hutchinson
run-flat single tyres. The Cursor 13 engine rated at 331
