Iveco will be using the occasion of the International
Commercial Vehicle Show in Hanover, which runs from
September 25th until October 2nd, to showcase a line-up
of new vehicles all designed to reduce CO2 emissions.
The company’s 3,700 m2 stand, located in Hall 16, will
feature the largest ever display of Iveco vehicles powered
by alternative fuels, including a Daily van which benefits
from a battery electric and diesel electric parallel hybrid
drive system. This vehicle will be joined by a hybrid
Eurocargo and a hybrid Daily Tourys minibus, together with a
prototype diesel hydraulic parallel hybrid urban bus named
the Irisbus Hynovis.
These vehicles will be joined by a wide range of Iveco
natural gas powered vehicles, comprising a Daily CNG, with
the new Fiat Powertrain Technologies 3.0 litre 136 hp
natural gas engine, together with a prototype Eurocargo CNG
which will enter production in 2009 with the tector
200 hp dedicated natural gas engine. These vehicles will
also be joined by the Stralis CNG, equipped with the Cursor
8 272 hp dedicated natural gas engine.
Also on display in Hanover will be a special All Blacks
Concept vehicle based on the Stralis AS440S56T/P, with an
extensive range of additional safety features incorporated,
including ACC2 (Adaptive Cruise Control), ESP (Electronic
Stability Programme) and Active Lane Departure Warning,
together with a host of internal driver comfort and
assistance systems underlining the positioning of this
top-of-the-range vehicle.
A new Stralis Light Weight Tractor is also being exhibited,
designed to demonstrate the possibilities for operators
looking to maximise payload opportunities, particularly in
the tanker market. This vehicle also features an on-board
Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) as standard.
Another new feature being launched across the Iveco range,
and showcased in Hanover for the first time, is the
introduction of Blue&Me Fleet. This telematics system is
based on the Fiat-Microsoft platform and is offered in
partnership with Qualcomm, global leader in web based fleet
management solutions.
Iveco is also using the exhibition to show its complete
range of off-road vehicles, including the world debut of the
new Eurocargo 4x4, together with an example of the Iveco LMV,
which is designed for tactical military applications and for
international peace keeping roles. Beside these two
off-roaders will be a three door version of the new Massif,
a Daily 4x4 crew cab, which can transport the driver plus a
crew of 6, a Trakker 8x8 and the Astra ADT 30 articulated
6x6 off-road dumper. Completing the Iveco vehicle exhibition
outside of the hall are examples from the entire on-road
range of Daily, Eurocargo, Stralis and Trakker model
line-ups.
