						Iveco’s
Daily range of light commercial vehicles has been voted
Best Large Van 2008 by What Van? magazine,
the largest dedicated van publication in the UK, read by
owners, operators and transport fleet managers.

This major accolade follows just six months after Daily
was crowned Best Light Truck 2008, with the Daily
scooping the prestigious award for the second year
running, in the Van Fleet World Honours, which
are presented annually to those van manufacturers and
service companies who have, in the opinion of the
judges, achieved the highest possible level of
						excellence in their sector.
The What Van? jury chose the Daily after careful
analysis lasting a whole year, during which the vehicles
were subjected to driving assessment and road tests. The
selection criteria focused in particular on driveability
and handling, comfort, performance and consumption,
finish, safety, load capacity, a good quality/price
						ratio and the residual value.

The Daily achieved points above all for the breadth of
its range which is made up of over 2,500 different
models from 3.2 to 6.5 tonnes, and includes vans,
chassis-cowls and chassis-cabs. It can be specified with
a choice of five engines, offering power outputs between
96 and 176 hp. The vehicle guarantees, for all types of
operators, from large nationwide fleets to small
owner-drivers, a wide choice of different wheelbases and
interior heights, lengths, side and rear door
configurations and eight different loading volumes, from
7 up to 17.2 m3, the widest range on the market,
						offering unrivalled loading capacity.

The editorial team responsible for the selection noted a
significant improvement in the product which two years
ago underwent a whole host of revisions including
all-new external styling and a reworked interior. Less
visible changes were made too, including the
introduction of larger brakes and a fully independent
front suspension system. An important the positive note
was made on the quality and the competence of the dealer
						network.
