At a evening
ceremony in Rome, Iveco delivered ten Massifs to Italy’s
Civil Protection forces. The vehicles were handed over
in a ceremony held in parallel with the press conference
given by President of the Council of Ministers, Silvio
Berlusconi, to present the programme for the G8 meeting
to be held in Italy during the course of 2009. The ten
Iveco Massifs will be used to provide logistic support
for the meeting.
Also taking part in the press conference were Minister
for Foreign Affairs Franco Frattini and Guido Bertolaso,
head of the Department for Civil Protection and the man
responsible for organising the G8 meeting. The 10
vehicles were handed over by Iveco CEO Paolo Monferino
to Guido Bertolaso himself.
The Massif is the latest addition to the Iveco range and
the company’s first real contribution to the lightweight
off-road segment. The Massif is ideal for the challenges
that our Civil Protection forces have to face on a daily
basis. Designed and developed for the toughest missions
and for professional off-road applications, the Massif
is able to tackle even extreme off-road terrain with
ease.
