A special
event will take place this coming weekend at the
MotorSport Stadium track, put up for the 33rd
International Motor Show, hosted by the city of Bologna.
On Saturday, 6th December, fifteen cars from the Italian
series of the Ferrari Challenge Pirelli Trophy will
enter the arena used for the show's on-track events. At
9 o'clock, they will take part in a qualifying session,
which will be followed by three races to be held during
the course of the day.
Competitors from the Pirelli Trophy include: Nicola
Gianniberti and Raffaele De Simone (Ineco/Ram), Giorgio
Sernagiotto and Giuseppe Cirņ (Motor/Piacenza), Andrea
Belluzzi (Motor/Modena), Andrea Gilardi (Forza Service),
Andrea De Lorenzi (Rossocorsa/Pellin) and Philipp Baron
(Baron Service).
The gentlemen drivers in the Shell Cup will be
represented by: Riccardo Ragazzi and Roberto Giacopuzzi
(Ineco/MP), Giuseppe Fascicolo and Gianluca Carboni (Rossocorsa/Pellin),
Davide D'Antuono (Motor/Modena), Vincenzo Sauto (Ineco/MP
Racing) and Renato Di Amato (CDP).
Apart from the races on the programme, the MotorSport
Stadium track will also play host to three demonstration
runs featuring four of the laboratory-cars entered in
the exclusive FXX Programme, as well as the traditional
appearance from the Formula 1 team: Luca Badoer will
take to the track in an F2008, the car which brought
Ferrari its sixteenth Constructors' World Championship
title, the eighth in the last ten years. At the end of
the demonstration, Badoer will then get behind the wheel
of a Fiat 500 Abarth which, in 2009, will make its
competition debut alongside the Italian series of the
Ferrari Challenge Pirelli Trophy, apart from the
Valencia round, which will be held at the same time the
event counting towards the European one-make series.
