The first 'Hot
Wheels' car in real size made in Brazil has
the Fiat
Punto as its basis. This project was born in a cultural contest, a result of a
partnership established between Fiat Automóveis and Mattel do Brasil, which had
a mission to develop a prototype, in real scale (1:1), applied to a Fiat Punto
HLX.
It is being
presented for its debut on the Fiat Automóveis stand
this week at the 25th Salão Internacional do Automóvel
in São Paulo.
The winning
vehicle – Icaro – was developed by mechanical and industrial
project students of the Paulista State University – UNESP in
Bauru. It presents strong features of the company and the
innovative look, which transmits all the 'Hot Wheels'
characteristics associated with the toys. The engine has
undergone significant transformations – 1.8 turbo 8V, with
power estimated at 300 hp at 5,800 rpm and maximum torque,
also estimated at 38 kgfm at 4,700 rpm, to maximize its
performance.
The unique car
features 18-inch rim light metal alloy wheels and, inside,
the seats are finished in black leather and are “burning” in
reddish orange details, which also appear in the headrest,
doors, seats and other details of the instrument cluster,
and gearshift. The 'Hot Neon' lights up and goes through the
instrument cluster, casting towards its interior and giving
a special touch, in connection with the most outstanding
features when speaking of 'Hot Wheels'.
