Alfa Romeo are present in the sponsor's paddock at the
Mille Miglia's historic base in Brescia with their full road range on show, the
stunning line up led out by the glorious Alfa 8C Spider as they commemorate 11
past wins in this legendary race.
Alfa Romeo's amazing winning
heritage on this event has been replicated by the unprecedented success that the
official museum racing team has enjoyed in recent years on the now revived event
which runs to the format of an historical time trial reserved for splendid cars
that once took part in the much missed original event.
This year Fiat Group Automobiles has
stepped up its involvement with the Abarth, Lancia and Alfa Romeo brands all in
the thick of the action. While Lancia has its new Delta model out on the course
as an organisers' car and Abarth is showing off its potent new 500 Abarth
Assetto Corse racer, Alfa Romeo is not only involved through the museum team,
the hot favourites in the frantic race for victory out on the circuit, but they
are also showing today's road range in the sponsor's paddock.
The Alfa Romeo production range
comprises of the limited edition 147 Ducati Corse (with its unique red piped
alloy wheels), 159 Sportwagon, Brera and Spider, the last being showing in a
special edition of 11 units to commemorate each of the hard fought wins. The cars
are finished in the Alfa 8C Competizione's 'Rosso Corse' paint scheme and in the
glorious sunshine of the last few days the unique colour gleams like no other.
Complementing the sporty line up is the new Alfa 8C Spider which will go into
production next year; the car that is taking centre stage in Brescia is the one
that was presented to widespread acclaim at the 78th Geneva Motor Show earlier
this year. To the backdrop of its road range in the paddock, large banners
record each of the brand's 11 Mille Miglia victories.
