30.09.2008 MARTINI TO CELEBRATE FOUR DECADES IN MOTORSPORT AT RALLYLEGEND 2008

LANCIA DELTA INTEGRALE

The Martini Racing anniversary comes together with the twentieth anniversary of the first world title of Lancia Martini and Miki Biasion, obtained with the Delta Integrale in 1988.

Unquestionably linked to the history of rallies and to the great Lancia triumphs in particular, the Martini Racing brand has chosen 6th RallyLegend 2008 to celebrate its forty years victories in rallies. And it will be present at RallyLegend also in the future, giving birth to a dual concept of great attraction.

The Martini Racing anniversary comes together with the twentieth anniversary of the first world title of Lancia Martini and Miki Biasion, obtained with the Delta Integrale in 1988. A double party, therefore, on Friday evening, 10th October, with a parade of particularly meaningful cars in the history of Martini Racing and with the presence of some of the champions that made the history of rallies great. A true happening, with the projection of videos and “live” interviews with the champions in attendance, for the enthusiasts’ audience.

The celebrations of Martini's 40th anniversary will be part of the reforming of Lancia Squadra Corse, which will back for 6th RallyLegend 2008, an event that will take place in San Marino next month (10-11 October) and will see Biasion joined by rally legends Juha Kankkunen and Sandro Munari in a team that will seek to revive memories of a golden era for the Italian brand.

This year Martini is celebrating 40 years of motor racing. In 1968 Martini sponsored a Porsche 906 sportscar at Hockenheim. Since that time Martini has been associated with an illustrious list of teams including Brabham, Alfa Romeo and Lotus in Formula One, Porsche in the World Champion Series, Le Mans, World Rallying and the German Touring Car Championship and Lancia and Ford in both the World Rally Championship and the World Championship of Endurance Racing.

Martini is now back where it belongs, in Grand Prix racing with FIA F1 World Champions Scuderia Ferrari, the most evocative name in the sport. The distinctive Martini 'Ball and Bar' brand icon is adorning the nosecones of the Maranello single-seaters during the 2008 FIA F1 World Championship.
