inaugural Citation Cup for non-professional drivers in his
JMB Maserati MC12. All up, the MC12 has won MC12 boasts a
fantastic record of 2 Drivers' titles, 2 Manufacturers'

For 2008
Maserati is focusing on the Vitaphone Team and its two
Maserati MC12s driven by Michael Bartels and Andrea
Bertolini in car one and Miguel Ramos and Alexandre Negrao
in car number two.
Based on both
their 2007 record and the pre-season tests, Maserati will,
once again, the team to beat, with Bertolini, Bartels and
Ramos setting fastest lap times in different test sessions
at the official test programmes held at Italy’s Monza race
track. Meanwhile at Estoril, Maserati covered more than 2600
km at race speeds without any mechanical problems, once
again demonstrating the MC12 remarkable durability.
In 2007 Maserati
won:
GT1 Drivers
Champion: Thomas Biagi, Maserati MC12: Biagi claimed
his second GT title with the Number 1 Vitaphone Maserati MC
12. He shared the car with Michael Bartels, Mika Salo
(Silverstone) and Fabrizio Gollin (Bucharest) while Bartels
recovered from an operation. Biagi and Salo won the Royal
Automobile Club Tourist Trophy. The Italian also claimed his
first two pole positions.
GT1 Teams
Champion: Vitaphone Racing Team, Maserati MC12:
This was
Vitaphone's third consecutive GT1 title, and, according to
Bartels, the most difficult due to the strong category. As
well as Bartels and Biagi in the number 1 car, points were
scored by Christian Montanari and Miguel Ramos in the number
2 Maserati MC 12, claiming a win at Brno.
GT1
Manufacturers' Cup Maserati:
With six cars
entered, by Vitaphone Racing Team, Scuderia Playteam,
Sarafree and JMB Racing, Maserati claimed the Manufacturers
Cup ahead of Aston Martin, GM/Corvette and Lamborghini.
Citation Cup:
Ben Aucott, Maserati MC12:
The inaugural season of the Citation
Cup, a GT1 category for non-professional drivers, saw Ben
Aucott win a close battle against Tom Cloet. Aucott, in the
JMB Racing Maserati MC 12, won five races out of eight, with
Joe Macari, Alain Ferté and Stéphane Daoudi.
