						RM Auctions 
						will be adding into the growing inventory at the 
						upcoming Ferrari Leggenda e Passione event on May 
						17 in Maranello, Italy, the important private collection 
						of rare and unusual coachbuilt Prancing Horse sports 
						cars that has been collected together by Edgar 
						Schermerhorn. 
					
					Carefully 
					assembled by Edgar Schermerhorn over the past decade and a 
					half, 'The Coachbuilt Collection' spans several decades of 
					Ferrari production and encompasses some of the finest 
					vintage Ferraris in existence with a particular focus on 
					early coachbuilt models. 
					
					Highlights 
					include an early 1949 Ferrari 166 Inter Coupe (#037S), the 
					seventh of a total of ten Ferraris that were bodied by Carrozzeria 
					Stabilimenti; a 1952 Ferrari 212 Inter by Vignale (#0287EU), which was showcased at the 40th annual Paris Motor 
					Show in France; and a highly desirable 1965 Ferrari 500 
					Superfast (#6043), the most expensive production car of 
					its time and popular amongst Ferrari's wealthiest clients. 
					 
					The coachbuilt cars drawn from the Schermerhorn Collection 
					that are confirmed for 
					the Ferrari Leggenda e Passione auction in May for 
					far are made up of a Ferrari 166 Inter Coupe with coachwork by Touring 
					(1949) #017S, Ferrari 166 by Stabilimenti (1949) #037S; Ferrari 195 Inter by Ghia 
					(1950) #0105S; Ferrari 212 Inter by Vignale (1950) #0287EU; Ferrari 250 GT by 
					Boano (1956) #0569GT; Ferrari 250 GTE 2+2 by Pininfarina 
					(1961) #3227;  Ferrari 500 Superfast by Pininfarina 
					(1965) #6043; and a Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona by Pininfarina 
					(1970) #13653. 
					
					In addition to the 
					rare cars drawn from the Schermerhorn Collection, the Ferrari 
					Leggenda e Passione auction at Maranelli will also feature the 
					previously announced 1957 Ferrari 250 TR chassis no. 0714TR 
					that may break the all-time auction record of US$10,894,000. Other important lots 
					already announced include a Ferrari 250 GT/L Berlinetta 
					(1964) and a Ferrari 250 GT Ellena (1958) as well as competition cars including a 
					Ferrari 275 
					GTB/6C Competizione Berlinetta (1965) and a Ferrari 641/2 F1 car 
					(1990). Also appearing in the prestigious auction will be an 
					F1 Maserati 250F.
