German tuner Karl Schnorr
Kraftfahrzeuge has produced an upgrade of the Abarth 500 which is reworked
visually, in the handling department and under the bonnet where new software
coupled to a new exhaust and a bigger turbo boost power to 200 bhp. The Abarth 500 is itself a
high performance and dynamically improved
version of the Car of the Year 2008 award
winning Fiat 500 and Karl Schnorr Kraftfahrzeuge
aims to take the bold theme one step further.
Karl Schnorr Kraftfahrzeuge has increased the visual
appearance of the Abarth 500 up by using eye-catching sporty
parts. The multi-spoke aluminium wheels from OZ Racing are painted in a
distinctive red (Seria Rossa) and are 7x17-inch in size.
They cost 1,090 euros and in Germany it including fitting and the vehicle
inspection registry.
The
Herborn-Seelbach
based tuner
promises better road holding for the Abarth 500
as it has developed a special new coilover kit which also lowers
the sports model by a few millimetres. It is priced at 1,270 euros including
fitting the kit and the putting the completed car through
the mandatory German vehicle inspection registry.
To compliment
the visual and suspension changes
under the bonnet
Karl Schnorr Kraftfahrzeuge
offers to two new power levels for the already-quick Abarth
500. The first step "Power Level
I" sees the 1.4-litre FIRE egine's power raised from the
standard model's 135 bhp to 163 bhp, an increase of 28 bhp, while
peak torque is improved by 45 Nm. "Power level II"
however features a more dramatic step up and sees
Karl Schnorr Kraftfahrzeuge reworking the engine with
realigned software introduced in combination with a new sport exhaust
system while the FIRE unit fitted with a large turbo charger,
and it all adds up to
boost power by additional 65 bhp to 200 bhp. The Power Level
I upgrade costs 950 euros while the Power Level II kit is priced
at 5,050 euros.
