Bucking the trend that has seen its sales
collapsing in recent months on key European
markets, Chrysler UK has posted its highest
monthly sales figure this year in September,
with a total of 2,014 vehicles sold. Sales
increased by 16.8 per cent over those of
September 2008, outpacing the UK’s new car
registrations growth of 11.4 per cent, a
difference of 5.4 percentage points. Despite
difficult market conditions, Chrysler’s sales
increased as a result of the successful sales
and marketing campaigns implemented this year.
The news comes
as the Chrysler Group LLC in Auburn Hills, Michigan
announces total International sales (for markets outside the
United States, Canada and Mexico) were 12,493 – a 30 per
cent increase over August 2008 sales. Chrysler UK Ltd was
the market leader for the company in International markets.
Federico Goretti,
Managing Director of Chrysler UK Ltd, said: “These September
figures are a tribute to the hard work put in by our dealer
network and everyone connected with Chrysler.”

Chrysler is
offering very competitive finance rates in the UK, until the
31st December, 2009, with zero per cent finance offers
available on selected models over 36 months – Chrysler 300C
and Grand Voyager available at £299 per month, and Jeep
Patriot and Dodge Journey at £199 per month . Contract Hire
and Personal Contract Hire is also available to corporate
and local business customers. Chrysler also continues to
actively participate in the Government’s Scrappage Scheme,
offering qualifying customers £2,000 off a new Chrysler,
Jeep or Dodge.
With the
continued development of the network structure Chrysler UK
has also announced the appointment of seven new dealerships.
This is further to the announcement in July when Chrysler
introduced four new dealers, bringing the total to 11 new
dealerships appointed in the last three months.
Strategically placed around the UK the new dealerships will
allow new customers easy access to the Chrysler, Jeep and
Dodge vehicle range as well as providing flexibility for
current owners. The seven new dealerships recently opened
are Chrysler Stevenage, Chrysler Bishop's Stortford,
Chrysler Hertford, Lancaster Southend, Triangle
Chesterfield, Sunwin Derby and Drayton Chrysler Jeep & Dodge
Shrewsbury.
In welcoming the
new partners, Federico Goretti, Managing Director at
Chrysler UK Ltd, said: "At Chrysler UK we have been busy
rebuilding the confidence in our brands. For the first time
in three years our dealer network is realising strong,
positive levels of return with both operating and direct
profits increasing. The confidence generated by the levels
of profitability is evident by our appointment of 11 new
dealers in the past three months. These new dealers are from
both existing partners expanding with their Chrysler
representation and new partners joining our franchise for
the first time. “The strengthening of our franchise will
continue with the appointment of a further six new dealers
to our network before the end of 2009.”
