An
initiative that will bring a small variation in
the temperature of the liquid coolant used in
air conditioning equipment used in Iveco offices
throughout Europe. A small sacrifice will be
felt by employees due to an increase by 1°C in
office temperatures for the summer period,
staying however within levels considered
appropriate for health and comfort.
This simple eco-sustainable action will, in
reality, have a large impact at an environmental
level, as, according estimates, it will result
in energy savings so avoiding the emission of at
least 423 tons of CO2.
The initiative, known as “IvecO2", comprises a
number of activities designed to improve
employee’s awareness on the subject of
eco-sustainability. It was created using the
company e-portal, visible to all, promoting
behaviour and awareness of daily activities in
order to avoid unnecessary office waste, so
demonstrating involvement and responsibility on
behalf of employees.
In this way, Iveco continues with its duty of
care over the whole spectrum, acting in support
of respect for the environment applied over the
entire life cycle of its products: from the
selection of raw materials and components to
production methods; from vehicle performance to
their end of life recycling.
Sustainable mobility, considered a fundamental
guiding principal of product development and
evidenced by a complete range of products with
very low environmental impact by their use,
judged by their pollution and CO2 emissions
together with energy efficiency. Iveco first
introduced Euro V vehicles to the market place
over 4 years in advance of the mandatory
introduction of October 2009. Today Iveco is
working towards solutions necessary for Euro VI,
with the firm objective to once more make the
technologies available to the benefit of
customers and the environment. In particular,
Iveco has made available for every one of its
production line with corporate strategies in
pursuit of sustainable transport ranges, Diesel
engines certified to the EEV (Enhanced
Environmentally friendly Vehicle) emission
standards and is the European leader in the
natural gas commercial vehicle sector with
vehicles that are already at emission levels
that will be necessary for Euro VI in the
future.
