Iveco’s Off-Road
website has won the nomination for Best in Class at the
Interactive Media Awards in New York. The awards are among
the web’s most coveted prizes. The Iveco site, dedicated to
the company’s off-road range, won the top award in the
Automotive class, reserved for websites with highly
innovative content with an impressive 490 points out of a
possible 500.
The New York Interactive Media Awards are the world’s most
prestigious awards for the web design and interactive
communication sectors, and represent an international
standard of reference for operatives and designers. The
jury, made up of top opinion leaders and communication 2.0
media gurus, assigned the awards on the basis of a range of
criteria including creativity, content quality, innovation
and visitor-friendliness.
Creativity, interaction, and multimedia content are the main
characteristics of the offroad.iveco.com website, created in
collaboration with DGTmedia, a well known web agency, for
its elegant designs and spectacular multimedia content. In
the site, Iveco vehicles are presented alongside the world’s
most famous rugby team, the legendary New Zealand All
Blacks, in a play on comparisons and associations
highlighting the shared ability to take on any challenge and
win, whatever the situation.
The project is emphasised by the claim “Built the same way”,
which was specially introduced in 2007 to announce Iveco’s
sponsorship of the All Blacks. Videos playing alongside 3D
models and interactive tools make the site uniquely
attractive in its genre.
The Interactive
Media Awards recognise the highest standards of excellence
in website design and development and honour individuals and
organizations for their outstanding achievement. Created by
the Interactive Media Council, Inc. (IMC), a nonprofit
organization of leading web designers, developers,
programmers, advertisers and other web-related
professionals, the competition is designed to elevate the
standards of excellence on the Internet and offer winners a
boost in marketing and exposure. IMC serves as the primary
sponsor and governing body of the Interactive Media Awards,
establishes the judging system and provides the judges for
the competition.
