Italian
industrial group Tazzari has provided further details of
its new electric car, dubbed the Zero, which will go on
sale later this year with a price tag of under 20,000
euros.
"Zero
will arrive in 2009," says Tazzari, "in less than a year it will
offer an alternative to those who want to move
freely around town. Zero will be made available
through a qualified sales network, which is
currently being organised in the main European
countries and some countries outside Europe.
From Italy to the UK and Norway to the
Caribbean. The after-sales service will be
ensured at a local level and managed by
Tazzari's Zero Team trained
technicians."
Tazzari has
launched a new website to funnel consumer interest in the
Zero, which includes a car configurator that allows the
viewer to see the compact 2-door car, which rides on 15-inch
(175/55 tyres) wheels, in 12 different external body
colours. Just 2.8 metres long, the Zero weights 542 kg (of
which 142 kg is from the Li-Ion Fe batteries) and has a
maximum speed of 56 km/h while it achieves 0-31 mph in 5
seconds. Range will be approximately 88 miles with a full
charging time of 9 hours although an 80 percent charge can
be achieved in 50 minutes using 3-phase power.
The Zero is the
first ever automotive project from industrial group Tazzari,
and the Zero will be assembled at its facility in Imola. The Group was founded
back in 1963 when Giorgio Tazzari
set up what would become an established and continually
expanding Italian manufacturing company. The company's long and
varied history has led the Tazzari family to occupy an
important place in advanced engineering, aluminium casting,
subcontracting and assembly, machining and the service sector.
During the 1970s,
thanks to Gian Luca Tazzari, son of Giorgio, the Tazzari
name reached ski slopes all over the world through the company's
design and production of high-precision ski grinding machines
and ski service-related technology. The company has always been a dedicated Italian producer in
pursuit of excellence. Now, after 45 years of growth,
investment, diversification, improvement and increasing
specialisation in the very best of technology and manufacturing,
Tazzari Holding and its affiliates are directed by Erik
and Rafael Tazzari.
