Felipe Massa has been cleared by doctors in São
Paulo to continue his convalescence at home just
a week and a half after his dramatic accident at
the Hungaroring following a examination at the
Albert Einstein hospital. "More good news about
Felipe Massa's health," was how Ferrari kicked
off a press release yesterday to announce the
developments. The Brazil F1 driver arrived in
São on Monday night and was examined by doctors
yesterday who released him, Ferrari confirmed.
"Felipe has had a remarkable recovery," Dino Altmann, his personal doctor, said.
"We did a series of
in-depth tests and the outcome is very encouraging so that
we, together with the hospital's medical staff, decided that
it wouldn't be currently necessary to further intervene from
a surgical point of view. The best thing for him now is to
go back home, where he can calmly convalesce and
rehabilitate."
Before he left
Hungary Massa commented in an official Ferrari interview that he was looking
forward to returning to Brazil. "Coming back
to my home, checking that
everything is as it was
before. Many things have
happened over the last days
and I want to get back to a
normal life. I want to get
back into the best possible
condition, doing things you
do every day."
