The
traditional Scuderia Ferrari spectacular dedicated to the
many Tifosi that attend the
Bologna Motor Show, this year
being held for the 34th time, took place
as usual in the Motorsport Arena, the special circuit
dedicated to events on the track at
Bologna fair’s Area 48.
After having greeted the
many spectators at the exhibition area
dedicated to Ferrari at the portico,
Luca Badoer, the official test driver
from the team from Maranello, went onto
the track with a F60, the single-seater
Ferrari used in the 2009 season, and
whose name celebrates the 60th
participation in as many editions of the
Formula 1 Championship from 1950 until
today.
The test driver, who briefly stood in
for the injured Felipe Massa earlier
this year, went onto the track for a pit
stop simulation and a long series of hot
laps, delighting the fans in the
grandstands, despite the harsh weather
conditions.
It was an
all-round intense day of action at the
Motorsport Arena as eight F430s from the Ferrari Challenge
Trofeo Pirelli as well as examples of the track-only Ferrari
FXX from the R&D project bearing the same name went onto the
temporary circuit for races and shows. Meanwhile on the
Ferrari stand in the show's halls, the highlights included
the experimental 599 XX racer, a production 430 Scuderia,
and the Risi Competizione-run F430 GT that won the GT2 class
at the prestigious Le Mans 24 Hours this year as well as an
AF Corse-run example of the same GT2 car that triumphed in
the FIA GT Championship.
Before Badoer
left the exhibition he said he was thrilled by the
experience had: “Since I’ve been part of Ferrari I always
wanted to take part in this event, because each time its
becoming better and better; the fans’ enthusiasm almost
gives you the impression of being at a Grand Prix.”
