The year may
be just getting underway but preparations for
the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series presented by Crown
Royal Cask No. 16 Rolex 24 At Daytona are in full swing
at Mastercar - Coast 2 Costa Racing. Fielding a pair of
Ferrari F430 GTs, the team is poised for a breakthrough
performance at the 47th annual endurance classic.
Italian drivers
Costantino Bertuzzi and Luca Pirri along with Americans
Nathan Swartzbaugh and Cort Wagner make for an impressive
line-up in car number 52. All the pilots are experienced GT
aces and have what it takes to win come Sunday afternoon in
Daytona in late January.
As exotic as the
Ferrari they compete with, the drivers from car #56 come
from around the world to tackle the twice-around-the-clock
event. Cesar Campanico from Portugal, Italians Luca Drudi
and Roberto Sperati, American Jay Wilton, & Christian
Montanari from San Marino, plan on combining their GT racing
wits to take on the best their competitors have to offer.
Additionally the team will be joined by NASCAR Sprint Cup
Series driver and two-time Rolex 24 At Daytona winner Max
Papis.
With drivers who
know how to win an endurance race, and a car with the pace
to lead the competition, Mastercar - Coast 2 Costa Racing
expects to be a contender for top GT honours in the Daytona
24 Hours come 3:30 pm on January 25, 2009. Furthermore, the
team will also support the balance of the 2009 Rolex Grand
Am season with a focused single-car assault on the
championship.
Mastercar - Coast 2 Costa Racing is an Italo-American
racing partnership with extensive endurance racing pedigree.
Team members have successful racing resumes spanning all
forms of professional motorsport from F1, International GT,
and even Historic racing.
Team sponsors
include Ferrari of Orange County, Handmade Films, Ferrari
Owners Club, CJR Logistics, Wilton Partners and The Los
Angeles Dodgers MLB baseball team.
