Over the last weekend the Ferrari F430 GT sports car claimed GT2 class victories in two new events that are both part of prestigious international Gran Turismo series': the F430 GT won at the Jarama circuit on the occasion of this season’s second round in the Spanish GT Championship, as well as at the Magione circuit in the second race of the Italian Gran Turismo Championship.

At the Spanish circuit the Ferrari F430 GT driven by Peter Sundberg and Domingo Romero from the Exakt Racing Team won the race ahead of the Ferrari with Manuel Cerqueda and Alan Sicart (Automobil Club D’Andorra) in the cockpit and the Porsche 997 with Miguel Amaral and Miguel A. De Castro sharing driving duties. The victory couldn’t be repeated in the second race when the Porsche with Amaral and De Castro on board crossed the line first, ahead of Ferraris of Manuel Cerqueda/Alan Sicart and Francesc Gutierrez/Luis Villalba (Motor Competicion). The next appointment of the Spanish GT Championship calendar will be held on the weekend of 19th July at the Estoril circuit in Portugal.

Just one week after the first round was held, at Vallelunga the second round of the Italian GT Championship took place at the race track in Umbria, where Ferrari celebrated a triple win in the opening race thanks to the Megadrive Team drivers' Marco Cioci/Giuseppe Perazzini, the duo followed home by Thomas Kemenater/Massimiliano Mugelli (Scuderia Play Team) and Matteo Cressoni/Mattia Pavoni (Edil Cris Racing Team). In race two the F430 GTs from the Advanced Engineering team, driven by Alessandro Garofano/Rui Aguas and Alberto Cerrai/Giuseppe Cirò, crossed the line second and third place, behind the Porsche 997 that was shared by Francisco Cruz Martins and Sascha Maassen. The Italian Gran Turismo Championship will be back in action on the weekend of 21st June at the Mugello circuit.
