Kuantan, the state capital of Pahang, served as the
destination of choice for this year’s Family Weekend
trip co-organised by the Alfa Romeo Owners’ Clubs of
						Singapore and Malaysia. Situated
on the East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia, it is known
for its pristine beaches and spectacular sunrise views
						over the South China Sea.Each
Club was navigating its own route, travelling through a mix of highway
and b-roads, with the town of Pekan, Pahang as a
rendezvous and lunch point before proceeding on to the
resort. At this point the convoy consisted of 25 cars
including for the first time in the Clubs’ events,
representing Alfa Romeo’s latest generation – the MiTo –
which kept up well with the bigger capacity cars.

Activities for the participants included tele-matches as
well as a visit to the local batik factory. Several
participants also chose to explore the local
surroundings on their own, taking in the various sights
and sounds of the area. The last night in Kuantan was rounded up
with a buffet dinner and presentation of the prizes for
the winners of the various tele-matches as well as a
lucky draw featuring collectibles such as posters of the
8C Competizione, Alfa Romeo cufflinks and socks.
						Ever
loving a good road trip, the next one is being planned
by both of these clubs for this month to Hua Hin in
Thailand as a precursor to an ambitious Centenary Celebration Tour of IndoChina in October. This
Kuantan Family Weekend 2010 was made possible with the support of EuroAutomobile (authorised dealer for Singapore) and
						Duta Village Beach Resort.
