Alfa Romeo UK is
repositioning its range entry level MiTo, the "Turismo"
specification, with improved equipment levels, including
16-inch alloy wheels, fog lamps, tailgate spoiler and
Blue&Me. The result is the competitively-priced MiTo
						Turismo Sport.
Along with additional content this new addition to the
range is available from £199 (for the 1.4 16v petrol
version) a month with a £1,000 deposit, making the MiTo
more accessible and hopefully improving the hatchback's
						sales.
						The MiTo Turismo Sport
has an additional £1,610 worth of optional equipment as
standard and is now on sale at a competitive £12,895,
on-the-road. Improving the equipment levels of the entry
level MiTo (the "Turismo" kicks off a three
specification level range across the petrol and diesel
models if the 78 bhp MiTo "Junior" is discounted) will
hopefully give the B-segment car a much needed push as
Alfa Romeo UK seeks to reverse a steep recent sales
decline: during July year-on-year sales dropped by more
than 42 percent to 505 units and the overall outlook for
the UK new car market for the remainder of the year is
expected to be down on the same period last year.
						The new range edition
will be available in a choice of three colours, "Solid
Black" (as standard), "Biancospino White" or the new
"Alfa Metallic Red" and can be specified with a choice
						of either the 1.4
16V 95 bhp petrol engine, available from £12,895 OTR, or
						the highly regarded 1.3 JTDM-2 95bhp MultiJet
turbodiesel, which is available from £14,410 (£219 a
month with a £1000 deposit). This advanced second
						generation MultiJet turbodiesel engine (JTDM-2)
complements the Alfa MiTo philosophy of low emissions
(112g/km of CO2) and fuel consumption (65.7mpg on the
combined cycle) while offering adequate performance and
driver satisfaction (0-62mph in 11.6 seconds).
On top of the list of
						standard equipment already found in the MiTo Turismo;
such as air conditioning and state-of-the-art Alfa D.N.A
technology, the Alfa MiTo Turismo Sport special edition
includes 16-inch alloy wheels, rear spoiler, cruise
control, the Blue&Me infotelematic package, fog lights
and a leather steering wheel incorporating audio and
phone controls. There is also dedicated "Turismo Sport"
						badging on the tailgate.
