Sharee Beazley is already
living the dream of most technicians, working on Ferrari and
Maserati cars every day, and now the 17 year old Sydney,
Australia resident has had her skill and dedication rewarded
with the presentation of the Pre-apprenticeship Student of
the Year award by Illawarra TAFE and the MTA.

					Just three months into her
pre-apprenticeship at Australia’s newest Ferrari and
Maserati dealership, Ferrari Maserati Sydney, Ms Beazley was
presented with the award for demonstrating class leading
					skills, knowledge and dedication.

					Originally from Canberra Ms
Beazley attended Kiama High School before completing Year
Ten at Shellharbour TAFE. “I have always been interested in
taking things apart, finding out how they worked and putting
them back together,” she explains. “I loved working on my
Dad’s car and becoming a technician is something that I
wanted to do. I started working in Minnamurra and Wollongong
and loved it. But when the TAFE suggested I apply to work on
Ferraris and Maseratis, I just did not believe it would be
possible, so when they told me I had got the job, I was just
					lost for words!”

					Dedication for Ms Beazley is
not just working on the latest Ferrari and Maserati models
in a brand new workshop – it also means getting up at 3.30
am in the morning to get the 4.21 train from Kiama to Sydney
and not getting home until after 7.00 pm in the evening.

					“It’s a long day, but I would
not swap it for anything,” she says. “Every day I get to
work on the cars with absolute cutting edge technology, I am
learning more than I could have possibly imagined and I have
the challenge of earning the respect of some of the most
skilled and knowledgeable people in the car industry.”

					Ferrari Maserati Sydney was
formally opened on 5 February this year and represents a $32
million investment in a state of the art dealership and
service centre that was described by Ferrari and Maserati
executives at the opening as a benchmark for their companies
worldwide. It features two workshops, one each for Maserati
and Ferrari, separate engine preparation bays, a training
centre and a high tech bay based on the Ferrari Formula One
					team’s workshops.

					“Working as a Ferrari and
Maserati technician is, as would be expected, a job for only
the best technicians in Australia,” says Scott Hogan, After
Sales Manager at Ferrari Maserati Sydney. “But it is more
than just being a superb technician, as we also require
superior customer care skills from all our technicians, with
communication skills that enable our technicians to converse
with our customers on a regular basis. Sharee has already
shown dedication, skill and an unusual level of ability and
so it comes as no surprise to use that she has also met the
highest standards of TAFE and the MTA.”

With a trophy already on the
mantelpiece, what direction does Sharee Beazley now see her
career taking? “I have had to re-think all my plans,” she
explains. “Working at Ferrari Maserati Sydney has opened so
many doors to new opportunities, many of which I had not
thought of, let alone considered. But what I want to do now
is gain as much experience as possible, as this is what
matters the most, and when it comes to technology in all
forms, there is no better place to be than working on
					Ferraris and Maseratis!"
