Fiat Automóveis, in its
policy of developing technologies and supporting
sustainable development, has donated a Fiat Palio
Dualogic ELX 1.8 Flex to the Government of Panama to
encourage the use of renewable fuels in Central America.
“We believe that
different alternative energy matrices will be used
throughout the world, and ethanol is an excellent
opportunity of development for Latin America,” states
Euler Ervilha, Exports Manager for Fiat Latin America.
“In addition to Brazil, Paraguay already has policies on
use of ethanol, and several countries work with
expectation to use renewable pure fuel or addition of
ethanol to common gasoline,” he complements.
The vehicle was
delivered by Eduardo Prisco Ramos, Brazilian ambassador
in Panama, Cláudio Souza, responsible for the Central
America markets at Fiat, and Euler Ervilha to the
Vice-President of Panama, Cancillere Juan Carlos Varella,
on an event held this week at Cancilleria Panameña, in
Panama City. Currently, 99% of the engines manufactured
by Fiat in Brazil are Flex, running with gasoline or
ethanol in any mix.
