FIAT LINEA T-JET 1.4 TURBO

Fiat India Automobiles launched the Linea in January last year and it went on to achieve sales success; today the 1.4 T-Jet version has been launched in India (above) to push the sedan upwards toward the top end of the segment.

Fiat India Automobiles first launched the Linea in January last year and it quickly went on to achieve media acclaim and sales success. Today the 1.4 T-Jet version of the Linea has been launched in India as the Italian carmaker aims to push upwards toward the top end of the segment.

With an array of best-in-class features Fiat India hopes local buyers will find the new version reminiscent of higher segment cars and as it is now equipped with the T-Jet engine the new Linea will show impressive performance for this market. The T-Jet engine was fitted to the sedan at its global launch and this version is already sold in selected markets around the world with mixed success: in Brazil the Linea T-Jet (the car is built locally but the engine is imported) attracts a high price tag and has generated minimal customer interest.

In India the 1.4 litre power train, which is being imported, delivers 114 PS power and torque of 207 Nm, enough to leave its segment competitors behind. With this, the Linea will be the first and only car in India's premium sedan segment to boast of a turbocharged petrol engine The car sets new benchmarks in India in the area of performance, safety, comfort, ride and handling and in-car infotainment.

The pricing with the Linea T-Jet, available in two variants, will start off with a special introductory period price structure: Ex-showroom Delhi: T Jet: Rs. 8.55 lacs and T Jet Plus: Rs.8.99 lacs; Ex-showroom Mumbai: T Jet: Rs. 8.84 lacs and T Jet Plus: Rs.9.29 lacs. Fiat India will initially focus on two of the most important markets, Mumbai / Pune and Delhi / NCR, which constitute 60 percent sales volume in the C-plus segment. With its focus on these important markets and other top metros, Fiat India expects robust sales.

Speaking on the launch of the all new Linea, Mr. Rajeev Kapoor, President & CEO, Fiat India Automobiles Ltd said, "We are pronouncing the Linea T-Jet as refined luxury and power. Highlights include the T-Jet engine with Indian class leading 207 Nm torque & 114 PS power; 7 class leading features; overall there are 13 new equipment /features; improved fuel efficiency; introductory prices; initial launch in NCR, Mumbai & Pune. Other markets launch in phased manner, dealers would accept bookings; in the launch markets the network has been spruced up to welcome the new products, with 8 new pop-up stores in malls; a brand new 360 degree campaign has been rolled out; the launch is supported by the customer centric service initiative Fiat First; growing service network – from 77 POS to 160 POS in less than 18 months; best in class service interval of 15,000 kms; genuine spare parts at claimed competitive prices; 24/7 Roadside Assistance; and best-in-class warranty coverage of 50 months.

The Indian market Linea T-Jet will be available in a spectacular new Sunbeam Beige colour. The car will be available at Tata Fiat showrooms in Mumbai and Delhi before it is launched in a phased wise manner across the country. The Linea's creative campaign had everyone humming the "Admiration Guaranteed" tune. The new Linea T-Jet will continue this theme with the launch of a new chapter of this popular campaign.
