						The Sevel (Societą
Europea Veicoli Leggeri) plant, located in Val di Sangro,
Italy and a joint venture partnership between FGA and
PSA-Peugeot Citroėn, has produced its four millionth
vehicle. The vehicle that crossed the finish of the line
and chalked up the milestone was a Fiat Ducato Maxi with
13 m3 of volume and a total gross weight of 3.5 tons,
equipped with a 3.0 Multijet Power engine (157 HP of
power and 400 Nm of torque) with the Comfort-Matic
						automatic transmission.

Fitted out with ESP, Cruise Control, bi-link rear
suspension system, rear doors opening 270°, automatic
climate control and radio with CD player, the vehicle
was purchased by a German customer who will take
delivery during the upcoming IAA Motor Show in Hannover,
Germany, scheduled for the 23-30 September.

Sevel is the largest European factory producing
medium-large vans, while the X250 family is the top
seller of its segment in Europe with more than 30% of
the volumes. Specifically, Fiat Ducato recorded 53,500
registrations during the first six months this year,
taking its European share to 19.2% (15.1% in 2006). This
sales performance is outstanding, and has been reached
by a model able to capitalise and reinterpret almost
three decades of experience. It is still seen on the
market as an innovative, efficient, reliable vehicle
that is an ideal work companion. With an extraordinary
load capacity (load compartment from 8 to 17 m3 of
volume, and from 1000 to 2000 kg of capacity), Fiat
Ducato sits at the top of its category. This is also due
to its distinctive look, practicality, comfort and
performance at the highest levels, advanced safety and
telematic equipment, lower running costs and respect for
						the environment.

Fiat Ducato meets all professional transport needs
effectively and with high productivity by offering 300
types of different bodies, more than 2000 versions, 150
optionals and more than 120 colours. On the whole, the
Ducato range includes vehicles for transporting goods (2
classes of mechanics, 3 wheelbases, 4 lengths, 3 heights
and 8 different volumes), vehicles for transporting
passengers (from the Combi and Panorama to the Minibus
and School bus, with solutions capable of ensuring the
transport of 5 to 32 passengers) and conversion bases
and versions (4 wheelbases and 5 lengths), as well as
special lowered and lightened chassis designed for
						camper and motorhome manufacturers.

The selection of engines is also wide: 3 Multijets (a
						100 HP 2.2, a 120 HP 2.3 and the 157 HP 3.0) and a 136
HP 3.0 Natural Power (petrol/methane). These
eco-friendly engines stand out above all for their
brilliant acceleration and pick-up provided by the high
torque levels (from 250 to 400 Nm) that are already
available at low rpm, in addition to the pleasure of
driving, low consumption and running costs, and extreme
reliability. The Ducato Natural Power, with a combined
consumption of just 8.8 kg of methane every 100 km,
offers 400 km of range and mileage costs reduced up to
25% of the same diesel versions.
