Lamborghini has presented
a fourth and fifth teaser image of the carbon-fibre technology
showcasing prototype they are bringing to the Paris
Mondial de l'Automobile, these latest images - just like
the previous three in the series - once again revealing
very little of any significance or interest.
The first new image (#4) shows a
scene choked up with yet more intricate patterns of
carbon weave. The reference of the picture is the sports
car's engine bay showing in the foreground a Lamborghini
badge-topped oil filler cap to feed its dry sump
arrangement and then looks down the centre of the
cylinder head which features covering composed of carbon fibre.
It's a pretty unremarkable image and the application of carbon-fibre
in this scenario is anything but trend-setting.
The second new image
(#5), the penultimate in the set that are being dripped
out prior to the show, shows a cockpit view looking
straight through a cut-out in the driver's seat towards
the dashboard while the steering wheel is also clearly
visible. The principles follow the previous dashboard
teaser image that, as well as the use of carbon-fibre,
the seat in this case, features a series of cut-out
sections to further erode the car's weight, fashioned in
angular sections.
Set to be unveiled at
the French motor show in just a few days time, this
concept will give a snapshot of where the Sant'Agata
Bolognese based carmaker sees the future direction of
super car production heading, away from top speed and
towards design emphasis, with a particular focus on
weight reduction, both as a means of improving the
dynamics of the car but also to chase compliance with
encroaching environmental regulation. Previous images in
the series have hinted at a V10 engine for this Paris
concept as well as carbon-fibre at every time, including
a minimalist cockpit.
