From 22nd
to 28th March, Turin will once again be the ice skating
capital of the world with the Torino 2010 ISU World
Figure Skating Championships. Staged at the Palavela,
the prestigious event is supported by Lancia - as Official
Sponsor and Official Car – reasserting the auto maker's
involvement in promoting this sport discipline which is a
natural expression of its brand values: Elegance and
					Temperament.
					The Turin
event will be the 100th edition organised by ISU (the
International Skating Union) and will attract 250 athletes,
from 50 countries, 300 journalists and approximately 50,000
spectators, in addition to the over 300 million who will be
watching the competitions on TV. Star of the opening
ceremony will be a fascinating 1953 Lancia Aurelia B20 GT.

					A fleet of
Lancia Musa, Delta and Phedra will accompany the various
National Federation Official Delegations and the members of
the 2010 World Championship Organising Committee, chaired by
					Lavinia Borromeo Elkann.

Furthermore, Carolina Kostner - recent gold medal winner at
the Tallin European Championships and Lancia testimonial -
will have at her disposal an Ypsilon ELLE, a special series
limited edition sold in the main markets across Europe. The
original version comes from a collaboration between Lancia
and ELLE, that creates and dictates a vast assortment of
women's clothing and accessories season after season.
					The 2010
World Championships are one of the events included in the
Lancia sports sponsoring strategy, seeing Figure Skating as
the natural expression of Lancia brand values. This
commonality of style has given life to “Lancia Ice”, a
project in which Lancia supports the men's and women's Ice
Skating teams and has accompanied the most important ice
events in Italy of the past years: “Christmas Gala” at the
end of 2006, “Kings on Ice 2007” starring Evgeni Plushenko,
“Lancia Lovers on Ice 2007” in Catania, “San Valentino Galà
Lancia Ice 2008” in Turin, and three “Golden Skate Awards”
					events (2007, 2008 and 2009).
