The
Signora del Vento, an 85 meters sailing vessel which
has been plying the oceans since 1962, is now a feature
at the Cannes Film Festival hosting an exclusive
Lancia Café in the shade of its imposing black
sails, over 3,000 m2, bearing the distinctive Lancia
logo.This
historic vessel is forming the venue for a string of
international cinema events during the 63rd Cannes
Cinema Festival, which opened last week and runs until
23rd May. The decks of the Signora del Vento are
hosting parties, meetings, press conferences and
interviews with the stars of world cinema.
The first event on
board the sailing vessel took place last Wednesday from
5 pm to 7 pm, when there was a special meeting with the
international press before the showing of Ridley Scott’s
film Robin Hood, starring Russell Crowe and Cate
Blanchett. The evening then continued with the
Festival’s opening party – an event sponsored by Lancia
– at the Majestic Beach, with around a thousand guests
attending.
The “Signora del
Vento” will be under the spotlights at other exclusive
events over the next week. As an example, today, the
evening before the Formula 1 Grand Prix, the ship will
be in the waters off the Principality of Monaco and will
host the Black Moon Benefit Gala, organised by
Lancia and Mandela Day under the aegis of His Majesty
Prince Albert II of Monaco.
Lastly, reflecting the
collaboration between Mediaset Premium and Lancia, the
three masted yacht is hosting the Premium Cinema corner,
venue for meetings with world cinema celebrities for the
duration of the Festival. Further, at 8.40 pm every
evening, Premium Cinema is broadcasting a program for
its viewers to keep up with the best of the Festival and
its parallel events, including those organised by
Lancia.
