Maserati will launch its
fastest, lightest and most powerful model in its range
when it takes the wraps off the Maserati GranTurismo MC
Stradale at the Paris Mondial de l'Automobile next month
						(2-17 October 2010).
						According to Maserati,
inspired by the motorsport versions of the GranTurismo,
the Trofeo GranTurismo MC and the race-winning
GranTurismo GT4, the two-seater Maserati GranTurismo MC
Stradale will feature improved handling characteristics
and will be able to break the 300km/h barrier.
						The GranTurismo MC
Stradale responds to demands for a GranTurismo which can
balance on-road driving needs with race-driving desires,
incorporating the handling and aerodynamic lessons from
Maserati’s three racing programs. Most recently the
fearsome MC12 continues to win, taking victory in the
FIA GT1 World Championship at the Algarve circuit in
						Portugal yesterday.
						The GranTurismo MC
Stradale produces more aerodynamic down force without
producing more aerodynamic drag, it produces more power
						– 450 hp (336 kW) – according to Maserati, without using
any more fuel and it is more agile without sacrificing
the GranTurismo S’s highly excellent ride quality. There
are some external cosmetic changes including a new front
lower lip spoiler and alterations to the main spoiler on
either side below the headlights, new front brake air
outlets sharply moulded into a revised bodywork profile
behind the front wheels and also changes to the rear
						spiltter.
