Iveco is
strengthening its presence at the motorcycle racing
circuits around the world by becoming a supplier to the
MotoGP series, the thrilling World Championship that
attracts the attention of more and more fans of the
sport. Under the two-year agreement with Dorna Sports,
the company that runs the MotoGP on behalf of the
International Motorcycling Federation, Iveco will
provide 15 Stralis tractors and 4 ECODaily vans.
Iveco
will move the world of MotoGP, transporting materials,
equipment and personnel along the route connecting the
circuits in which the 18 races will be contested taking
place in as many as 14 countries. This is a sport that
has progressively increased in popularity at the
international level, since televised races were
broadcast. In fact, last year’s races were broadcast in
207 countries on 5 continents, with an average audience
of 28 million people for each competition.
Moreover, thanks to this sponsorship agreement, the
Iveco brand will be prominent in many of the racing
circuits but in particular, it will feature in
Australia’s Phillip Island circuit, where, as last
season, it will be the “title sponsor” of the race that
will be known as the "Iveco Australian Motorcycle Grand
Prix 2010".
Beyond our proximity to the world of sport that
represents an important guideline of our business
strategy - said Franco Miniero, Senior Vice President,
Iveco Sales & Marketing – that this initiative is a
great opportunity for us to increase our visibility
worldwide and to pass on to our customers, the positive
energy associated with this sport which is a symbol of
great cutting-edge technology but also of strong
emotions."
Iveco's commitment to the international motorcycling is
further represented by the role of Official Sponsor of
the Fiat Yamaha Team, which brings the company name to
that of the nine times World Champion Valentino Rossi
and his team-mate Jorge Lorenzo.
Iveco's involvement with the world of MotoGP is part of
the broader communications strategy of the company that,
in line with its strong international identity and the
continuous research for initiatives that are expressions
of its great vitality and energy, it is always
orientated to the world of sport. Furthermore, MotorGP,
like formula 1 in the automotive world, is the height of
technological innovation applied to the world of sport.
The same philosophy of innovation that inspires Iveco in
the planning and realisation of its products and
services offered to its customers.
The current development of this partnership is further
evidence of Iveco’s will to associate its name with
partners excelling in international sport. The important
links with the All Blacks, New Zealand’s national rugby
team, and as official supplier to the Scuderia Ferrari,
the two most popular teams in the world in their
respective field, unequivocally demonstrate this fact.
This new way of communicating, aligning its image with
top level personalities and events in the world of
sport, plays on the emotions and passions that revolve
within this world and that inevitably brings with it a
huge media impact at an international level.
