The first
guests at the Ferrari stand in Geneva were astonished that
next to a red 458 Italia, an elegant Grigio Ingrid livery of
the Ferrari California, the 599 HGTE’s Rosso Fuoco and the
Grigio Ferro Met of the 612 Scaglietti, there was also a
Ferrari Verde. The lab car immediately became the star of
the Geneva Motor Show in Switzerland, not only because of
its colour, but mainly because of the originality of its
technical solutions.
The
Ferrari Verde aroused the Financial Times interest
and the financial newspaper’s title on the website was
“Ferrari presenting its first hybrid". Today the Ferrari was
on the prestigious newspaper’s first page, while the
Daily Telegraph came out with a photo of the Ferrari
Verde. "Ferrari – the fruit is green", was the French sports
daily’s L'Equipe title. "Ferrari is turning green,
the hybrid bet" – title in the Corriere della Sera
and "Green future " on the Il Sole 24 Ore with the
HY-KERS lab car on the front page. The car is also a
protagonist in today’s New York Times, where the
"Ferrari HY-KERS Hybrid Concept" is analysed in its details.
Ferrari
was not only mentioned in the most important newspapers in
the world, but also in the news. Something else already
presented in Geneva was also generating great interest,
namely the introduction of the Stop & Start system in the
Ferrari California, a world première for high-performance
supercars.
Today,
during the day before the official opening of the Geneva
Motor Show to the public, with the international press
concentrated on Ferrari, Sergio Marchionne and John Elkann,
Fiat Group CEO and Vice Chairman respectively, visited the
Fiat Group’s stands and also showed up at the Prancing
Horse's display. They had a close look at the HY-KERS lab
car, now already known as the green Ferrari, and at the
California with the new Stop & Start system. John Elkann
couldn’t resist sitting behind the wheel of the 458 Italia,
the innovative V8 from Maranello, which in the short time
since its presentation has already been awarded numerous
awards from the international press.
