Italian racing car
constructor Dallara has inaugurated its first simulator
which was developed in collaboration with Ferrari and
will allow to train drivers and engineers and improve
the performance of both race and road going cars. The
inauguration was held in Varano de’ Melegari (Parma) in
the presence of authorities and motorsport
personalities.
The new Dallara
driving simulator represents the state of the art for
the dynamic behaviour which it can replicate. The rig
has been designed to be versatile in order to cover
multiple disciplines and a variety of applications.
Based on Dallara's
experience and know how, the Italian company strongly
believes that the simulator is a fundamental tool for
reducing development time and costs of new products, a
challenge which the motorsport sector in particular is
constantly faced with, in order to create value.
Therefore the Dallara
simulator will not only provide training for driver and
engineers on different tracks and cars, but will also be
fundamental in allowing its engineers to fully evaluate
and define a car prior to manufacturing, reducing the
costs associated with road and track testing.
"Furthermore," says
Dallara, "the simulator can be applied to social,
scientific and educational activities, not necessarily
related to competition or road driving; an example can
be found in human-machine interface studies and
applications in sport medicine."
