It has been announced
that the Shreyans Group has been officially appointed as
importer for Ferrari in India, ending a long search by
the Maranello sports car maker for an India distributor.
The first Ferrari dealership will open its doors in New
Delhi in the spring while a second outlet is scheduled
to open in Mumbai later this year.
The Shreyans Group will
setup an independent Ferrari India office with Ferrari
experienced professionals to manage the upcoming dealer
network. Long standing talks for Ferrari to enter this
key growth BRIC market had previously included Fiat
Group Automobiles joint venture partner Tata Motors. The
new deal with Shreyans Group also allows Ferrari to
begin to play a catch up in a market where many of its
sports car rivals are long established. Lamborghini
first arrived in India in 2006.
"We are proud to
announce the partnership with Ferrari today. This brand
represents for us the epitome of success and we are
proud to partner with one of the world's most desired
brand. We will establish a highly qualified network of
Ferrari dealers across India to cater to the discerning
needs of our customer" said Ashish Chordia, Chairman of
Shreyans Group.
The range of Ferraris
which will be sold in the Indian market includes the 8
cylinder Ferrari California and 458 Italia, and the 12
cylinder 599 GTB Fiorano, joined by the FF, the latest
model launched at this month's Geneva Motor Show. The
first dealership in New Delhi will carry the Ferrari
corporate Identity with an elegant and authentic design
as well as having a personalisation area to support the
clients in choosing the options to configure their cars.
There will also be a service centre.
The Shreyans Group has
played a role in transforming luxury retail in India.
The conglomerate distributes and retails luxury products
including cars, yachts, super bikes, fashion articles
and jewelry. From the inception of the business, the
management has had a very clear vision: to offer the
highest quality products and after sales service,
providing customers with an unprecedented buying
experience. After several successful years, the group
now retails and distributes some of the world's most
prestigious brands.
