Scagliarini Motorsports,
a leading Abarth and Fiat 500 performance and styling
company in North America, has announced that it has been
commissioned to build its own take on the Fiat 500 Coupè
Zagato concept which debuted at the Geneva Motor Show
						this year.“On
my bicycle ride Saturday a larger essence for the
Scagliarini 500 Coupè Zagato Elaborata became manifest,”
						Scagliarini Motorsports Managing Director Michael
Salvarani says. “I shared the epiphany with our client,
and he asked how soon could the car be delivered. In the
space of 60-hours we created an elaboration steps ahead
of anything imagined. We took the Fiat 500 Coupe Zagato
concept, filled the rear windows, introduced an Abarth
500 chassis, and added all-wheel drive. The Scagliarini
500czè is body, mind and spirit.”
						Making reference to
the Fiat 8V Elaborata by Zagato, Scagliarini Motorsports
will call its final elaboration the 504 Coupè Zagato
Elaborata, the “4” indicating all-wheel drive. The
Scagliarini 504czè was conceived before the creation of
Centro Stile Scagliarini, the company’s newly-formed
design house to be located in Italy.
						The Scagliarini 504czè
will include the tuner's carbon fibre trim accessories
designed specifically for the Abarth 500, inside and
out. These carbon fibre trims will be made up of an
antennae base, dashboard kit, door panels, front air
vent, front bumper grille and splitter, door mirror
covers, rear diffuser panel and roof spoiler. Other
upgrades to the base Abarth 500 will include the use of
components from the Abarth 500's optional "esseesse"
kit, Abarth front seats in Alcantara, Brembo brakes, and
						a Ragazzon performance exhaust.
						The commission came
from a buyer of the Scagliarini 500u, a limited edition
500 by Scagliarini Motorsports which commemorates the
150th anniversary of Italian unification. The client, a
resident of the United Arab Emirates, asked Scagliarini
Motorsports to provide its take on the 500 Coupe by
						Zagato.
						“We started receiving
emails from nearly all corners of the globe after
announcing the Elaborata last Friday,” Michael Salvarani
says. “As of now we are preparing a single copy of the
Scagliarini 504czè, but we have an agreement in place
for a limited [production] run based on demand.”
						Scagliarini
Motorsports is planning to construct the Scagliarini
504czè in Italy, and will use an Abarth 500 1.4 Turbo
already in the company’s possession. The engine will
have 180 hp, 230-250 Nm and be fitted with a BMC air
filter. The all-wheel drive system, which has been
developed for the European 500 version, uses the Fiat
Panda 4x4's components including a locking differential.
The car will be finished in a Lamborghini Arancio, and
						may feature a removable top.
						“With the Scagliarini
504 Coupè Zagato Elaborata we have established
Scagliarini Motorsports on the world-stage proper,”
Managing Director Michael Salvarani believes. “The
Scagliarini 504 Coupè Zagato Elaborata is a tribute to
Abarth co-Founder Guido Scagliarini, and we could not be
more proud. Of course, our hats are off to Zagato for
						their design.”
