A new
Fiat Fiorino Cargo van more than proved its miserly fuel
claims after winning the Overall Best MPG title
in the ALD Automotive Shell FuelSave MPG Marathon
						in the UK.The
1.3 MultiJet Diesel 75 Euro 5 van returned 82.96 mpg
over the economy test’s 370 mile course using less than
four and a half gallons of fuel to take the title. And
the overall mpg figure achieved was actually 26.27 per
cent better than the official combined figure for the
						van.
						Driven by motoring
journalist John Kerswill and partnered by Ian McKean,
the Fiorino van also claimed best mpg figures in its
						class.
						"I was really
impressed that the Fiorino was able to achieve over 80
mpg on a tough route that included plenty of steep
hills, heavy traffic and strong headwinds,” says
Kerswill. “It's a great little van to drive, too."
						“We know the Fiorino
Cargo is an economical van to own and drive, so it’s
great news when our claims are proved so conclusively in
a tough test like this one,” says Paul Godden, brand
						manager, Fiat Professional.
						The MPG Marathon, now
in its eleventh year, challenges the UK’s top
eco-drivers to get the best possible mpg figures from
their vehicle, and aims to set motorists thinking about
the impact they have on fuel consumption. The Fiat
Fiorino Cargo range in the UK starts at £9,695 (basic)
						for the 1.4 8v Petrol 75 Euro 5, rising to £12,645
(basic) for the Adventure 1.3 MultiJet Diesel 95 Euro 5.
