month in Italy during June, holding its losses to 3.68
percent after selling fifty thousand cars, just
undershooting the overall market which was down 1.70
percent. Alfa Romeo and Lancia ended the month on a
positive note while Fiat lost more ground. However it
meant the Fiat Group didn't pull back any of the ground
it has lost as in June 2010 its Italian sales had
						plunged by 27 percent.

According to automotive industry body UNRAE a
total of 168,832 new cars were sold in Italy last month
and when compared to 171,753 units during the same
period last year the market was almost flat (-1.70
percent). The Fiat Group weighed in with 50,341

down 6.6 percent on the same month last year when it saw
39,309 sales, and as a result its market share slipped
further, from 22.89 to 21.75 percent year-on-year for
the month. With the Giulietta now having been on sale in
Italy for more than a year, Alfa Romeo was finally
stripped of its bounce and turned in a more modest 7.26
percent rise after selling 5,497 cars in June, 372 more
than in the same month last year. Alfa Romeo was however
the best performer from FGA for the month and its June
market share climbed from 2.98 to 3.26 percent for the
						month, year-on-year.

registered. The Fiat Group has 296,643 registrations for
the half year, down more than sixty thousand units and
17.83 percent on the same period last year when the
Italian carmaker had sold 360,998 units by this point.
As a result the Fiat Group's market share for the first
half of the year drops from 30.98 to 29.29 percent.

3,733 units for the first half of the year, up 76.67
percent on the first six months of last year. That gives
Jeep a 0.37 percent share of the Italian market for the
						year-to-date.

after 11,923 units found buyers, putting it comfortably
ahead of the Panda (10,380) in second place while the

Automobiles brand. Lancia's Ypsilon added 5,354 units in
June to made it four FGA models in the top five - as
well as the top ten - as the Alfa Romeo Giulietta
surprisingly absented itself from the best sellers list.
