The new Montante for
Maserati 8CTF has been designed to celebrate the 70th
Anniversary of Wilbur Shaw’s victory of the 500 miles of
Indianapolis behind the wheel of a Maserati 8CTF. The
Sicilian company bike maker has teamed up with Maserati
in order to deliver a product which embodies the
excellence and the Italian style from both brands.
The Montante for Maserati
8CTF is being produced in a limited edition of just 200
pieces, each one individually numbered. Montante for
Maserati bicycles are made-to-measure to fit the rider
perfectly. The 8CTF model, a single speed bicycle, comes
from one of Montante’s original designs which made it
one of the leading industries in the field.
Developed and produced
by Montante Cicli in Italy, the Maserati 8CTF features
unique and distinctive details: the silver Trident on a
grey background on the hubs are said to be inspired by
the Maserati’s supercharged three-litre engine; the
Maserati logo in a Thirties’ style on the frame reprises
the metallic plate identifying the car’s chassis; the
enamelled oval is a reproduction of the traditional one
on the car’s bonnet.
And last but not least
the number 1 is the same as the one featured on Shaw’s
car with which he won, twice in a row, the world’s most
famous American race. From the Montante-Maserati
collaboration, a new bicycle has been produced for all
the admirers of the Trident. The limited edition
Montante for Maserati 8CTF bike is made to order and is
available at a price of 3,600 euros plus shipping.
Montante Cicli,
regarded as one of the most prestigious bicycle brands,
was founded by Calogero Montante in the 1920s.
Innovation and quality were and still are the main
characteristics of these Italian bicycles. The Montante
Cicli racing team was created at that time and when on
to take part in national and international competitions
which helped Montante achieve its current status.
Montante also became the official bicycle supplier of
the Italian Army. Montante’s success helped to turn its
bicycles into real cult objects.
