German tuner MR Car
Design has given the Maserati Quattroporte a mild under
and over the skin upgrade to give the Pininfarina
designed luxury sedan more available power and a
						discreetly customised visual appearance.
						According to Marc Reilly
of MR Car Design the company didn't want to change the
acclaimed and award-winning lines of the Quattroporte
which is now coming to the end of its production life
after almost a decade - the much anticipated
next-generation model will break cover later this year.
						MR Car Design, which
also tunes an array of sports models including VW's Golf
and Scirocco, claims to have added an extra 30 hp to the
						pre-facelift Quattroporte fitted with the 4.2-litre V8
engine through a remap of the ECU software which brings
power up to 430 hp. Peak torque now stands at a claimed
						480 Nm while a pressure-optimised stainless steel
exhaust system with four tailpipes that are 76
millimeters in diameter each matches the increased power
						output.
						Visually, the tuning
firm has used a black base car and tinted the windows to
create a matching effect. Further effect is added to the
luxury sedan by the incorporation of 9x22 inch Vossen
rims at the front which are fitted with Pirelli PZero
tyres in size 245/30R22 and 10.5x22 inch wheels at the
rear axle shod with 295/25R22 tyres as well as fifteen
millimeter spacers at the rear axle which, as well as an
improved visual experience, MR Car Design believes
improves the car's stability. Equipping the Quattroporte
finally with H&R springs lowers the car by 20 to 30 mm.
