German
tuner Wheelsandmore has announced an upgrade programme
for the Competizione and Spider version of the Alfa
Romeo 8C, claiming improvements to the overall power
output as well as the suspension and wheels, which both
come along with cosmetic changes.
Thanks to an EU upgrade combined with a new hand-made
exhaust system equipped with remote-useable exhaust
valves, Wheelsandmore, which becomes one of the few
tuners to tackle the 8C Competizione, claims to have
squeezed out an additional 30 horsepower from the V8
engined sports car while at the same time increasing
torque by around 40 Nm.
The tuner from Aachen, which has previously improved
other Italian sports car models from Ferrari and
Maserati, has given the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione and
Spider a further performance improvement through fitting
matte-black, individualised 6Sporz² ultralight forged
wheels. The weight-optimised multipiece wheels are sized
at 9.0x21 inches on the front axle with 245/30/21 tyres
while at the rear the come in a wheel size of 12.5x21
inches with 345/25/21 S1Evo tires from Hankook.
To improve the car's looks and ensure comfortable
everyday use a compression and rebound adjustable
coilover suspension is offered, this fits with the
factory Skyhook suspension. The coilover suspension is
offered with a limited 5 years warranty.
The presented conversion has been totally wrapped in
matte white foil with a red and black Wheelsandmore
design stripe, the tuner claims. Wheelsandmore has
internally called its Alfa Romeo 8C Coupé/Spider
conversion "Senza-Cromo", because all chrome mounted
parts were also swathed in matte black. So has the
company has only released photoshops of the project.
