Lancia models are now rebadged as Chryslers for the UK and Northern Ireland markets. The Ypsilon is already on sale in the UK with a Chrysler badge alongside its bigger Lancia sister, the Delta.

The Ypsilon Black & Red - said Lancia at its launch last December: "is designed as an alternative for a younger and male target that prefers contents associated with sporty style and audio technology."

Like the Lancia, the Chrysler Ypsilon Black & Red doesn't get any new features, rather the body colour on the outside and the seat fabrics, dashboard and door linings on the inside are all themed black and red. The Lancia version offers several different ways to customise the black/red finish of the car although this isn't mentioned in the Chrysler UK press release.

“We’re delighted to be launching this new addition to the popular Ypsilon line-up,” said Nigel Land, brand director, Jeep Chrysler UK. “With additional equipment worth more than £3000 packed into a car that starts from just £12,750, we believe Black & Red will become a valuable member of the Ypsilon family.”

The Chrysler version will be available with the same choice of three engines – 85 CV 0.9-litre TwinAir and 69 CV 1.2-litre FIRE Evo II, petrol, and 95 CV 1.3-litre MultiJet II, diesel. It also comes with manual air conditioning, Blue&Me Bluetooth, hi-fi system, 16-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels, fog lamps, black glass and body-coloured side skirts as standard.

In an effort to connect the Ypsilon Black & Red with consumers Chrysler UK is offering incentives with a zero deposit, £199 per month finance deal available on the 1.2-litre version, or £219 for the 0.9-litre TwinAir and £239 for the 1.3-litre. On the road pricing for new Ypsilon Black&Red is as follows: 1.2 Petrol (£12,750), 0.9 TwinAir (£13,950) and 1.3 MultiJet (£14,950).
