Fiat
Automóveis has given its long-standing Brazilian market
models a thorough summer refresh and that has extended
to the last-generation Fiat Siena EL which is being
retained in the line-up, despite the arrival in April of
the new Grand Siena, as a competitively-priced
entry-level sedan.
With a solid market share
amongst low-cost sedans, the Fiat Siena EL, the basic
version of the outgoing model, stays in the Brazilian
marketplace by offering consumers decent content mixed
with a more affordable price in the basic range of the
market segment.
Available in EL 1.0
and EL 1.4 versions, the refreshed Siena has received a
new front bumper across both versions, new alloy wheels
and hubcaps with the latest in design. Internally,
special attention go to the seats which are covered in a
new fabric while there is a new three-spoke steering
wheel, new storage compartments and a magazine rack on
the back of the front seats as well as a cup holder and
another smaller cup-type mobile object holder.
The centre of the
dashboard has also been revised, along with the
instruments panel with a black background that includes:
speedometer, RPM, temperature gage and clock, trip
computer, My car Fiat, and fuel gauge. The sound system
now has a new CD/MP3 and CD/MP3/Connect radios with USB
and connection to iPod and Bluetooth. It has also gained
new electrical height and longitudinal adjustment for
the seats. For added driver comfort, the EL comes with
foot rest.
Externally, the model
sees the front grille now fitted with the new 'family'
feel chrome trim, while bumpers and side sill covers are
body coloured. The final external change sees the door
handles and side mirrors finished in black. Well
equipped, it also features standard speed limit alert,
scheduled maintenance alert, internal command to open
the trunk and fuel tank cover, follow-me-home, timed
rear window defroster, trunk lining and a 12V socket,
among other items.
The Siena EL can come with the Fire 1.0 Flex engine with
73 hp (gasoline) and 75 hp (ethanol), and torque of 9.5
Nm (gasoline) and of 9.9 Nm (ethanol); or the Fire 1.4
Flex engine with 85 hp (gasoline) and 86 hp (ethanol)
and torques of 12.4 Nm (gasoline) and 12.5 Nm (ethanol).
With a fairly complete
list for its category, the consumer also has the option
of the following equipment: HSD (High Safety Drive -
double air bag plus ABS brakes with EBD),
air-conditioning, power steering, electric front windows
with one touch and anticrush functions, front and rear
power windows with one touch switch, power locks and
side mirrors, radio Connect CD MP3/WMA player integrated
