						The Lancia
Club Japan has just celebrated its 20th anniversary in
						real style, holding its annual
Lancia Lunch 2012, attended by several special
guests who are a part of Lancia's rich history, at the
Oiso Prince Hotel. "We invited the greats heros, Sandro
Munari, Simo Lampinen, Gian Beppe Panicco and Thomas
Popper," says Akira Harada from the Club. "About 200
Lancias and other cars arrived [at] the meeting. The
meeting started with a parade of three competition
Stratos and 12 'Stradale' Stratos." Those three former
rally machines were a lauded Chardonnet car that won the
Tour de France and Tour de Corse in 1975, Roberto
Pietropoli's former 1980 Rally Valli Ossolane winning
						machine and a Rothmans-liveried, ex-Bagration example
that was victories in the 1980 Spain Rally Championship.
"There was a talk show fronted by famous Japanese
journalist Kenichi Tanabe which [focused on] Sandro,
Simo and Gian Beppe," says Akira, adding "Sandro drove
demonstrations [in] three Stratos and Simo drove [a]
Fulvia and a Saab 96. The show [was] the [main]
						performance at the meeting." |
