In Barcelona
last weekend, Ferrari ended an International GT Open season to remember
as
Bruni and Leo take the drivers’ title,
AF Corse were pronounced champions in Super GT and
Kessel Racing took honours in GTS.Barcelona staged the final round of the
2012 International GT Open series and in fact all
the titles on offer went to Ferrari, who were amongst the front runners all
season.
A fifth place in Race 1 and a fourth in Race 2 were enough to give Gianmaria
Bruni and Federico Leo the title, with 195 points picked up over the year, three
more than second placed Nick Tandy and Marco Holzer in the Manthey Racing
Porsche. AF Corse, meanwhile, came out on top in the Super GT category, confirming the
professionalism demonstrated in winning the FIA World Endurance Championship.
Ferrari also took the Constructors’ title, beating Porsche by 44 points, in
which Kessel Racing also played an important part, to take the GTS class thanks
to the consistency of Daniel Zampieri and Michael Dalle Stelle, who enjoyed a
truly excellent season.
