At the 88th Geneva Motor Show Fiat has presented a limited edition version of the 500 that’s been dubbed “Collezione” which offers trim upgrades including several two tone colour finishes and matching interiors as well as unique detailing and badges with the aim of conveying a more luxurious feel.
This latest limited edition version follows in the footsteps of the special series that last year celebrated the sixtieth birthday of the 500 model and hits the booth at the Swiss show alongside the 500 Mirror” range which emphasises improvements to the car’s infotelematic offering as well as another Fiat special edition making its debut, the "S-Design".
The 500 Collezione will be available both as a hatchback and in the lower volume convertible version and it features stylistic details that aim to reflect a modern reworking of its forerunner's unmistakable design signature, with specific chrome trims on the front bumper, bonnet and mirror caps.
16-inch alloy wheels come as standard on the 500 Collezione, while several optional liveries can be chosen, such as the new two-colour "Primavera" (White and Grey), the two-colour "Acquamarina" (White and Green) and Taormina Ivory, alternative to Gelato White and Dipinto di Blu Blue.
Lastly on the exterior the car comes with a chrome-finish "Collezione" logo in italic script on the tailgate and the grey-white-grey door finish on both monochrome and two-tone cars.
Inside, the dashboard is coloured to match the bodywork: white in the combination with two-colour "Primavera" and green when the two-colour "Acquamarina" is chosen.
The seats, meanwhile, are also in two colours, with a grey striped base and ivory upper section, embroidered with the 500 logo at shoulder height while the "Collezione" logo also appears inside, embroidered into the floor mats.
Fiat's Uconnect 7'' HD LIVE radio, which is Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatible, the integral navigator with Tom Tom maps, the largest-in-class 7'' TFT display and the Beats Audio Hi-Fi system all come as optional extras on this model.
The 500 Collezione offers a choice of petrol, petrol plus LPG dual fuel and diesel engines with power from 69 to 105 hp, also with Dualogic robotised transmission and paddle shift. The car on the stand at the Geneva Motor Show is the 1.2-litre engine option with 69 hp.
This is the latest limited edition range to be spun from the 500 range, following on from special series including 500 by Diesel, the first of a long series, launched exactly ten years ago, as well as the 500C by Gucci in 2011, the 500 Riva in 2016 and the recent 500-60esimo e Anniversario, celebrating the Fiat icon's sixtieth birthday.
It also gives Fiat something to catch some attention in Geneva as it has no new models at the show and currently very little to talk about in terms of a future model portfolio.
