LONDON TUNING HOUSE WORLD FAMOUS FOR PERFORMANCE MODIFIED ALFA ROMEO'S

For nearly two decades, the Autodelta brand has been synonymous with leading-edge technology and innovations in every aspect of Alfa Romeo tuning.

Each Autodelta component has been meticulously bench and road tested to provide optimum performance and handling even under the most arduous conditions. Whether it’s chipping or turbo-charging, or anything in-between, Autodelta have the answer. For custom-made aerodynamic body styling, look no further than Autodelta’s in-house design and manufacturing division, Autodelta Creativestudio.

And for those who want it all, Autodelta’s J10 Spider, GTV, J11 156 or J12 147 give new meaning to today’s Alfa Romeo range: complete cars, engineered from the ground up. Finally they have introduced the Autodelta Alfa Romeo 147 GTA, the ultimate hot hatch, featuring a 3.7-litre V6 offering 328bhp.

History
A tuning house specialising in maintaining and enhancing the performance of standard Alfa Romeos, Autodelta was founded in 1987 by a gifted young engineer, Jano Djelalian.

The inspiration for the name of Jano’s West London-based business came from the famous Alfa Romeo works racing team of the ‘60s.

In its early days, Autodelta concentrated on the then current Alfas: Alfasud, GTV6, Alfa 33, Alfa 75, Alfa 164, Spider and Alfa SZ, all models it continues to support in every sense, including servicing, as well as the more recent Alfa Romeo model range of the ‘90s to date - responding to routine customer demands for more power by carrying out modifications to pistons, valves, liners, exhaust manifolds and brakes, and thus improving both performance and handling.

From the mechanical to the visual: a manufacturing division, called Creativestudio, was set up to offer Autodelta’s ever-growing clientele a range of body kits designed to give standard Alfas a more individual look, whilst respecting aerodynamic issues and keeping true to Alfa Romeo’s image, personality and values.

The demands of an ever-expanding business, including round-the-clock servicing and on-site upgrading facilities, inventory and warehousing, together with the need to accommodate sophisticated equipment for R & D, called for larger premises: by 1997 Autodelta was responding to demand for custom-made Alfas from both the UK and abroad, and moved to its present, purpose-built headquarters in Park Royal, West London.

The appointment of Autodelta international official agents in 13 countries - including Australia, Costa Rica, Germany, Greece, Hong-Kong, Ireland, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Poland, Russia, Switzerland and Taiwan – reflects both Autodelta’s growth abroad and its need to guarantee quality control in supply and installation of Autodelta parts.

The model range

AUTODELTA J10/J10 EVO

Launched in 1997, Autodelta’s modified Alfa Romeo Spider and GTV sport specifically designed front spoiler, side skirts and, for the GTV only, rear spoiler. Re-worked cams and subtle chipping increase the original 2.0 TS engine’s power to 175bhp. EVO versions are powered by a 2.0 turbo unit, which delivers 220bhp, and feature a front spoiler incorporating air intakes, whilst the rear - with new, lower aprons - houses a 4-pipe exhaust.

AUTODELTA J11/J11 EVO

The standard Alfa Romeo 156 gains a sporty bodykit, and a 2.0 turbo giving out 225bhp. In its EVO guise, Autodelta’s 156 is powered by a 3.3 V6 engine with 250bhp. Suspension is upgraded for a sportier drive and to reflect the increase in power.

AUTODELTA J12/J12 EVO

The most popular model in the range so far, J12 is based on the standard Alfa Romeo 147, but has been given completely redesigned front and rear bumpers for a racier look, in line with the extra power (180bhp instead of the original 120bhp) delivered by a 1.6 turbo. Autodelta’s J12 EVO pushes the 1.6 turbo unit even further to 198 bhp, and has proved to be the most sought-after Autodelta engine conversion to date. The 2.0 version boasts 230bhp (up from the standard 150bhp).

AUTODELTA ALFA ROMEO 147 GTA
Introduced at the MPH03 Motor Show at Earl's Court in December 2003, this interpretation of the Alfa Romeo 147 GTA become's the world's ultimate hot hatch. Powered by a 3.7-litre V6 featuring new camshafts, ignition and injection system, re-mapped electronics and increased internal dimensions, it pumps out an amazing 328bhp. The car features a new limited slip differential, a major suspension upgrade, better brakes and a new styling package.
