The Lancia Thesis Protecta is the bullet-proof version of the prestigious Italian flagship. Lancia offers it with two levels of protection: B6 and B4 with 'Kalashnikov' rating. The latter level protects against this famous assault rifle, and features include anti-grenade protection of the floor, PAX alloy wheels, anti-explosion, self-sealing fuel tank and safety locks. Bullet-proof right from the drawing-board, the Thesis Protecta can boast the best combination of the materials used. For example, the bodyshell was designed specifically and made of ballistic standard steel.

The same protection is used for the floorpan, with the addition of layers of a special fibre to protect against explosions. Rigorous tests are performed on the materials used from the design stage and on the car itself, respecting the most stringent international standards.

The result is the Lancia Thesis Protecta, a perfect combination of ballistic protection, brilliant performance and outstanding comfort. The interior is upholstered in leather with luxurious wood inserts which are the work of skilled craftsmen, enveloping the passengers and transforming the cabin into an elegant, warm, enveloping environment. The protection controls are hidden from indiscreet eyes, under the central front armrest: the control unit can be activated instantly. And the fire protection 
system that protects the engine bay, the luggage compartment and the tyre housings is equally rapid. 

Brakes, suspension and transmission were redesigned and adapted to the weight of the car to maintain the same reliability, agility and handling. The electronic control units which govern engine operation are armour plated. And in the event of an accident, the rear doors can be expelled to provide an emergency exit.

The Thesis Protecta means travelling protected and safe, with an extra something. Both outfits offer exclusive protection devices as standard equipment. Such as the intercom system, integral protection of the cabin and special wheels with the PAX system, which means they can still be used with a puncture. Or the anti-explosion, self-sealing fuel tank, which is made of special materials that eliminate the risk of an explosion, fire or fuel leak. And last but not least, special additional locks were designed for the doors and boot, and made of force-proof material, to make the passenger compartment even more impenetrable from outside. 
The special flagship is powered by the 3.0 V6 24v engine with automatic transmission.
