12.02.2004 FIAT BRAZIL REVEAL MORE DETAILS OF THE CENTRO STYLE REWORKED NOVO MILLE

The long running Fiat Mille, still being built in Brail and known locally as the 'Mille', has recently been given a mild facelift.

The restyling has been carried out by Fiat Centro Style in Italy and reflects current European thinking including larger headlamps and a bigger grille which features horizontal bands similar as to be seen on the new Punto.

More than two million examples of the Mille have now been built in Brazil and the model, known as the Uno in Europe and long since replaced by the Punto in mainstream markets, has clocked up over eight and a half million sales worldwide in total.

Inside safety has been improved. The side doors have been strengthened and rear seatbelts are now standard for the first time. To improve interior ergonomics while saving costs, a number of parts have been sourced from the Palio, also built locally. These include instruments, guages, the column switch gear and heater controls.

The Mille-based light commercial Fiorino, available in both van and pick-up formats, has also received the same makeover.
