19.11.2002 NEW MODELS: IMAGES OF THE FIAT PUNTO B-MPV, FIAT "NEW SMALL" AND ALFA ROMEO "SPRINT"
Three new images of significant
new Fiat Group models have broken cover. The Fiat Punto B-MPV designed
to compete head on with the Ford Fusion and forthcoming GM "Monovolume"
shows a much cleaner and tidier shape than previous images have suggested,
with the Punto-based car appearing larger than its dimensions imply. With
the front doors set back from the A-pillar, the triangular space between
the pillar and the door has been blanked off in this photograph, although
a quarter-light glass is expected to be fitted to increase visibility.
The Fiat Panda/Seicento replacing "New Small", although widely trailed, shows more clearly its Stilo-style "step" below the side windows and the family-look front bumper and rubbing strips. The front grille and door handles have been revised. Next year's Alfa Romeo 156-based Coupe, commonly referred to as the "Sprint" in this image offers a front bumper and spoiler styled closely to that of the new 147 GTA with GTA-style front grille air-intakes obvious. >>> Fiat
