It has been a great start
in the motorsport area at the Bologna Motor Show, with the opening weekend seeing
the Ferrari Formula 1 team in action on Saturday and the FIA GT Championship
winning Ferrari 550 Maranello demonstrated on Sunday.
Saturday kicked off with a
'Champions' kart race and one make Peugeot Trophy action. The afternoon saw the
tension racked up when the Ferrari Team and the F1 World Championship winning
F2003-GA driven by official tester Luca Badoer took to the track.
The Ferrari mechanics carried out four pit stops, the best of which was
completed in 3.78 seconds, under the gaze of thousands of fans in the arena. The
performance was ended with a standing ovation.
Sunday lunchtime saw the
BMS Italia run FIA GT Championship winning Ferrari 550 Maranello of Thomas Biagi
and Matteo Bobbi demonstrated in the packed arena. The Ferrari 360 Modena from
the Pirelli Trophy also took to the track during the afternoon. |
